Grade Forum September 2025

Most Blazers are doing a great job meeting expectations!  As a reminder, vaping and congregating in washrooms is prohibited.  Vaping can pose significant health risks, and students found vaping on school grounds will be subject to consequences.  We kindly ask that you remind your children that staff will continue to supervise washroom common areas as needed.  If necessary, we will keep parents/guardians and public health officials informed, and apply progressive discipline.

Student Accident Insurance

The Limestone District School Board requires that students have student accident insurance in order to participate in extra-curricular activities. Before students will be allowed to participate in these events, parents/guardians must confirm their own coverage for items not covered under the Provincial Health Plan, or purchase an insurance plan. Each year a Student Accident Insurance Plan is made available to all students on a voluntary basis. If you wish to subscribe to this insurance, you may do so by completing the form (packages available in the main office) and mailing it directly to Reliable Life Insurance Company i the stamped envelope provided. Or, for your convenience, you may purchase directly online.

Data Verification Forms

Data Verification Forms were sent home with students on Thursday, September 11th, 2025.  The information on this double-sided form is what we have in our system regarding students and their families, so it’s very important we have accurate information.  We ask that you review both sides of the form, make necessary corrections/additions, sign, date and return the form by Friday, September 26th to Candice in the main office or via email casuccic@limestone.on.ca

Human Rights Presentation for Fall Athletes

All Fall Athletes must attend an important presentation on Human Rights and Athletics on Tuesday, September 16 during period 1. This session is crucial and will cover significant topics that align with the recommendations from the Future of Sport in Canada Commission's Preliminary Report.

School Council

Calling all interested parents and guardians! Our first School Council meeting is this Tuesday, September 16th from 6:30-7:30pm in the BSS Library Learning Commons.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day on September 30th, we are reminded of our responsibility to engage intentionally in learning about the Residential School System and the true history of relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in what is currently known as Canada. This is a day to honour the children who never returned home, to stand with Survivors, and to commit to reconciliation in our classrooms and communities.

As the new school year begins, it's a perfect opportunity to encourage families to make the journey to and from school more active—and safer for everyone. This month, we're sharing practical tips to promote active school travel, helping to build healthy habits and foster safer, more connected communities.

Getting to School

We're also providing information to remind families how to report their students’ immunizations. By starting this messaging early, we aim to reduce the number of families involved in the Immunization of School Pupils’ Act (Suspensions) process later in the year.
